Islas On The Square

Isla's on the Square is absolutely the best restaurant find we've had in years. Isla's just celebrated their 1st Anniversary, I can see them easily celebrating decades in the many years to come. Every single employee made our day, from the manager Austin, to Zack the chef, and our server, Joshua. Joshua blew it out of the park when it came to his appetizer and meal suggestions. We enjoyed our first visit and meal so much, we went back on the night before going home and had another Over The Top experience and meal. Form appetizers like seared scallops and Down South grilled oysters, to meals like Shrimp and Grits, and Herb Crusted Salmon, this is THEE restaurant you need to visit while in Spartanburg, SC.

This experience turned out to be more surprising than I anticipated—in a good way. The food was excellent, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The restaurant had a lively, fun atmosphere, and the service was truly exceptional. That said, I do have two complaints. First, the lobster Roll wasn’t worth ordering—it fell short compared to everything else. Second, the music felt completely out of place. I don’t mind EDM-style tracks, but we came for dinner, not a rave. The soundtrack really threw off the vibe and put a damper on an otherwise great evening.

Oysters were delicious! I got the New York strip special and lemon mascarpone cake. Enjoyed everything. Highly recommend!

I've now been to this restaurant twice, once with a work meeting where they had us off to the right hand side of the entrance. Not particularly private, but still okay for the event. It's not a particularly large restaurant in more temperate weather. I believe there is an option to sit outside at the rear of the restaurant. Last time my wife and I went for a dinner on Halloween night. As usual it was packed and we had seats basically at a bar with a view out the front of the store which turned out to be quite nice. Our server was quite fantastic to be honest. The place was packed and the food took quite some time to be served, but we enjoyed our time together. It wasn't that big of a deal. When it arrived the halibut which was on special was quite fantastic as were the sides. My Wife ordered the steak medium. It was actually quite rare to be honest. We opted to not have it cooked more as we know how that usually turns out. For $43, that was quite disappointing. We don't drink alcohol often, but did try a couple of specialty drinks which we enjoyed. In general, I would consider this a special night out, not somewhere that you would go every weekend as the bill could get quite high, especially if you like to have several beverages with your meal.

Isla’s is unmatched in every category. Let’s start with the food and drinks - I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad thing here. From something as simple as fries to their lobster rolls or ravioli, it’s all done to perfection and made with top quality ingredients. The desserts are also to die for! Their cocktails are unique and fun, as well as, absolutely delicious. The bar takes pride in putting out the best looking and best tasting drinks in the area. Their espresso martini is a must try. Next, the service. If anything could top the food and drinks it’s the service. I’ve never met a more attentive (and fun) group of people. The servers are always kind and accommodating and the bartenders make sitting at the bar an experience like no other. I’ve never had a less than wonderful interaction with anyone in there- hosts, servers, bartenders, management- they are all wonderful people. Bring all of that together in a beautiful restaurant and you have a great atmosphere to enjoy dinner and drinks for any occasion. 10/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Islas offers an EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE on the Spartanburg food scene. Our server, Joshua, ensured our evening was SPECTACULAR, providing personalized service and recommendations. The food was some of the best we've had in the area. Everything, from the oysters to the main dishes was delicious. The cocktails were the perfect accompaniment to the meals. We absolutely LOVED Islas, and would highly recommend to anyone.

Islas is a good place to hang out with friends and have drinks. The buffalo oysters were delicious! The service was great, everyone was very informative and helpful with answering questions. They have a second floor with a bar area that is very cute. It allows you to be comfortable and relax.

Delicious lobster rolls and perfectly cooked oysters on the half shell! Disappointed the steamer was down so no steamed oysters, but the amazing espresso martinis (too many to count!) made up for it. Great food, great drinks, great night.
